Ruth Ryan-Cruz, Esq. practices mainly in the areas of business and corporate law, intellectual property law, real estate, and estate planning. Ruth greatly enjoys guiding entrepreneurs and executives manage their operations lawfully in businesses of all sizes. Ruth is also passionate about assisting individuals and their families limit their risks and plan for different events in life.

Before establishing Ryan-Cruz Law, APC in 2015, Ruth was an associate attorney at a boutique law firm in downtown San Diego. Prior to that, Ruth worked with a business and corporate law firm, Friesen, Guy & Associates in Orange County, California.

In 2014, Ruth was featured in San Diego Attorney Journal as a Rising Star for her professional achievements.

Community Involvement

Ruth is a Director and Executive Member of the Alumni Association at her alma matter, California Western School of Law. Ruth is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association’s Business and Corporate Law Section and the Estate Planning, Trust & Probate Law Section.  Ruth is a member of American Bar Association and the Federal Bar Association.  Ruth is also a member of several local professional networking groups including Trustegrity and San Diego Young Professionals and Entrepreneurs.

In addition to the above professional affiliations, Ruth is an active volunteer with several local organizations including: Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego, I Love a Clean San Diego, Gary and Mary West Senior Wellness Center, California Western School of Law, and the San Diego County Bar Association.

Graduate Education

In High School, Ruth developed herself as an independent website developer by customizing, designing, and maintaining web sites for local San Diego businesses in various industries.  As an entrepreneur providing services to business owners, Ruth learned a great amount of business matters and issues unique to business owners.

Throughout her undergraduate studies Ruth worked at two local companies ultimately reaching management roles furthering her understanding of business operations. Licensed by the California Department of Insurance, Ruth moved on to assist a new insurance agent develop his book of business and focused primarily on marketing, information systems, and commercial accounts counseling business owners by helping them customize unique insurance coverage plans for their business needs. By working closely with business owners throughout the years, Ruth expanded her business knowledge and is well-prepared to develop solutions for businesses and the individuals managing it.

Ruth earned her Juris Doctor Degree from California Western School of Law and received her Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in High Technology Management from CSU San Marcos.

Personal

Ruth was born in Baja California, Mexico and raised in the Encinitas and Oceanside communities of San Diego.  Growing up, Ruth was greatly interested in business and computers as early as elementary school which led to an entrepreneur in the making as early as High School. Ruth remains in the local community and established Ryan-Cruz Law, APC in San Diego, CA.

During her downtime, Ruth greatly enjoys traveling domestically and internationally, biking, hiking, kayaking and camping with friends and family. Ruth also enjoys movies, web designing, cooking Mexican food and the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park.  Ruth, her husband Matt and their daughter, greatly enjoy their community of North Park.

I was very impressed with her willingness and ability to reach out to the proper organizations and bring together other experts (CPA, etc..) to make sure we were doing this right the first time. Ruth assisted us with an old trust that my grandfather setup. My grandparents did not speak English and the Trustors? (my Parents and Aunts and Uncles) didn’t follow through with their part after my grandparents passed. Many many years went by which eventually caused issues with a piece of property and some taxes. I will use Ruth FOR EVERY situation requiring a lawyer even if its not in her field… I will consult with her to make sure I get the right person for the job.
